Transfer To Secondary School

Chattenden is part of the Hoo Peninsula Comprehensive system. Children at the age of 11 generally transfer to the Hundred of Hoo School which includes 6th form facilities. Medway also has a number of successful Grammar schools and pupils are offered the opportunity to enter the selective test and parents have the option to enter their child, if they so wish. The procedure is explained to all parents early in the Summer Term prior to Year 6. This allows parents time to visit all secondary schools and make an informed decision.
At the heart of our transfer arrangements is the belief that each pupil should make a successful transfer to a secondary school that will suit their personality and capability in order for them to develop their particular strengths and receive support for the development of any challenging learning areas. This should help assure them of success in the next stage of their education.
