Chattenden Primary School

Drama

Throughout the school, children will be given opportunities to develop their speaking and listening skills by participating in a range of different drama activities. These will usually be part of our English lessons and will focus on developing understanding of the texts the children read. We provide opportunities for children to engage in a range of drama based activities such as role play, freeze frame, thought tracking, hot seating, role on the wall, conscience alley and even teacher in role where the adults will model effective role play for the children. In KS2, children will read and write their own playscripts and learn how these can be performed effectively. We value these activities as they give children the confidence to develop their speaking and listening skills in a safe and supportive learning environment.
